IKEA Extravaganza!

Charlotte Dubois here! I’m excited to share about our latest KITE trip to IKEA! I had never been to this “Pinterest in real life,” but I couldn’t wait to explore it with our students! IKEA did not disappoint.
IKEA is always full of unique and surprising elements! With multiple set-up rooms, we could have spent hours dreaming about how to bring a little beauty back to our own homes. We ooed and awed over lighting fixtures, pillows, storage of all sorts, beds, and even kitchen sinks! We sat on convertible couches, ergonomical chairs, and seats that zipped up and looked like hard-boiled eggs.
It was fun seeing the students take a break from their hard work at Kinwell and dream about future apartments or how they could change up their bedrooms at home. It also gave them a chance to think through budgeting and the real cost of a home.
After spending a couple hours dreaming, we said goodbye to IEKA and trotted over to our amazing lunch destination: Portillo’s! We ordered an array of sandwiches, fries, and cheese cups, and of course we enjoyed some incredible and world-famous Chocolate Cake Shakes! Amazing doesn’t even begin to explain how scrumptious this food was. I love planning and going on these KITE trips! They not only give our students opportunities they may not otherwise have, but what an amazing time of unity and fellowship it was. I can’t wait for our next trip together!
Want to help out at Kinwell in an extremely practical way??

Many of our students come to school hungry. Healthy meals aren't a regular part of many of their lives. You can help change this by bringing or paying for a meal for our students to share.

Prayer Requests

1. Pray for our final stretch with academics. ISTEP testing and classes nearing their end usually put extra strain on students and teachers!
2. Pray for the counseling we've begun in our building with Family Service Society. That our students would be greatly impacted by it and by into what they learn.
